Bring advanced planning and traffic management to an award-winning creative communications team within a global organization.
AkzoNobel creates everyday essentials to make people’s lives more liveable and inspiring. We are a leading global producer of paints, coatings and specialty chemicals, supplying essential ingredients, essential protection and essential color to industries and consumers worldwide.
Over the last year we have strengthened our Global Communications (GC) function in order to develop an integrated, world class team with capabilities in key areas such as digital, content production, design, media relations, public affairs and internal engagement. As we transition towards being a more purpose-led company, this is an exciting time to be part of the GC team, which is at the beating heart of bringing our company purpose to life.
Within GC is a Creative Services (CS) team that functions as an in-house communications agency, based at the AkzoNobel Center in Amsterdam. Within this context, your mission in this role is to support the head of CS in the smooth and effective running of the team, with specific responsibility for planning, traffic management and processes.
In this role you oversee the planning of campaigns and large creative projects, from brief to delivery, and you are often the first point of contact for internal clients with project requests. You also work with the Design and the Editorial Manager to assign activities to the design and content team, as well as tracking progress. As such, this role demands superior project management and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure international environment.
Is this a challenge that matches your skills and ambitions as a natural and proactive planner with a flair for structure and a passion for communications? Do you have a solid background in project management and strong track record of working with agencies? Can you combine hard work and fun with a solution-driven approach in which you look beyond your own immediate area or responsibility? Above all, can you act as a key member of a dynamic, multi-award winning team that never settles for anything less than the best?
If you offer all this and more we invite you to apply for the role of
Strategic Planner
The role and its responsibilities
This is a key position in which you partner the Head of Creative Services to devise plans, ideas, solutions and improvements so that we optimize the way we work, not only internally but also with clients and agencies.

This requires you to maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the global communications calendar, campaigns and projects. You also act as a liaison between clients and the creative team.
Further, you build relationships with external suppliers, manage outsourced work, and manage and roll out your own projects while reporting regularly on projects and results.
You report to the Head of Creative Services and you are part of the CS Leadership team.
