Welcome to the Essentials by Ellen Holiday Release Blog Hop!

The Holiday Release is now available for purchase HERE from Ellen Hutson. You can pick and choose which stamps and dies you have to have or get the whole kit and caboodle by clicking HERE.

I've got two new holiday card shares for you today and I'm going to start with this pretty floral card showcasing the new Mistletoe & Holly Stamp Set and coordinating Mistletoe & Holly Dies.

To create the background, I applied some Iced Spruce Distress Ink to watercolor cardstock using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. Then I generously spritzed the inked paper with water in a Mini Mister and let the ink move and air dry to create a really cool and easy watercolored background.

The outline images from the Mistletoe & Holly Stamp Set were stamped on watercolor cardstock and colored in with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The solid image was stamped with Pine Needles Distress Ink (spritzed with water once or twice before stamping). Once dry the images were die cut with the coordinating Mistletoe & Holly Dies.

The greeting from the Mistletoe & Holly Stamp Set was stamped on the watercolored background and the florals were grouped and layered to create a pretty arrangement above the greeting.

White dots were added around the floral arrangement using the Sakura white glaze pen, added Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen to the poinsettia, and the panel was trimmed and adhered to a white card base.

For my second card share, I used the Elf'd Stamp Set and coordinating Elf'd Dies for a partial die cut strip card.

The partially die cut strip was created by first drawing a pencil line on white cardstock and stamping the sitting elf from the Elf'd Stamp Set on the line using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. On the Edge Cutting Pads were used to cut only the portion above the pencil line and then a craft knife was used to cut along the line on either side of the elf. A greeting from the Elf'd Stamp Set was stamped on the strip using the Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink.

The elf image was colored in with Copic Markers. The individual marker colors are linked below in supplies and shown in the upper left corner of the screen in the how to video.

On the Avery Elle Sugar Collection notecard, I stamped a trio of snowflakes from the Elf'd Stamp Set using Frost Versamark Ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. The corners of the card were rounded with a 1/2" corner rounder.

The candy canes from the  Elf'd Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock, colored in and die cut with the coordinating Elf'd Dies. I adhered them to either side of the greeting and adhered the partial die cut border to the stamped and embossed card base with foam adhesive.
