A Commentary by Niagara At Large publisher Doug Draper

It’s as if ‘Tea Party Tim’ and his Tory gang still can’t believe, let alone respect the possibility that the NDP’s Wayne Gates beat his buddy Bart Maves in a by-election in Niagara Falls this past February.

Tea Party Tim Hudak sends this twit Rod Jackson , or whatever his name is, from a Greater Toronto Area mess called Barrie, to slam one of Niagara’s MPPs at a time when we should be working together for a better future here.

In the classic 1970s movie ‘Network’, the character Howard Beale – characterized as “the mad man of the airwaves” – began one f his broadcasts by saying he is “tired of all of the bullshit.”

On that score, here is a little bullshit here that I am getting sick and tires of.

I am talking about the leader of the so-called Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario (I would definitely leave out the word ‘progressive’, simply from a dictionary definition pint of view) … yes I am talking about Ontario Tory leader Tim Hudak, or ‘Tea Party Tim’, as some in the Toronto media have taken to calling him, coming to Niagara, or sending his caucus minions to come here and try to smear mud on MPPs who don’t happen to be members of his  party.

Once again, this Friday, March 10th, Tea Party Tim sent one of his caucus goons, a certain Rod Jackson from the Barrie/Greater Toronto Area, to come to a Niagara Falls riding, recently won by NDP candidate Wayne Gates in a by-election,  to smear mud on Gates.

Wayne Gates, a former Niagara Falls, Ontario city councillor and labour leader in Niagara, has hardly been sworn in as an MPP at Queen’s Park for a month, beating Hudak’s Tory darling Bart Maves, and already Hudak is throwing mud on him again.

Just because  Gates will not, so far, vote on any motion that is a vote of non confidence that brings down minority Liberal government of Kathleen Wynne and triggers an election that Hudak has been chomping at his bit to have for two years now, he is some awful piece of turd that is  propping up the Wynne government. All that according to some worm named Rod Jackson, who is a member of Hudak’s caucus and is a representative of Barrie who probably doesn’t have a clue kwhat Gates has tried to do here  to help a Niagara with serious challenges.

This Tea Party carpetbagger – this a no-name nothing around anything ever to do with helping Niagara called Rod Jackson (and I hope some of the people in this worm’s riding of Barrie catch this post) –  had the nerve to come to Niagara this Monday, March 10th and leave a message that says “Gates Chooses Liberals Over People Of Niagara.”

I’d like to ask  Jackson and his Tea Party leader Hudak this. Where were they when Gates and other members of the Niagara community held rallies around saving hospital service in Niagara Falls and Welland over the last few years? Where were they, when Gates was there, around trying to save good-paying manufacturing jobs in this region and others in Ontario?

Where are they around fighting for a higher minimum wage or, better still, a livable wage for hard-wording, Ontario citizens?

At the end of it all, I would like to ask Hudak and his party where are they on offeing an inspring and hopeful vision for Canada’s future rather than simply shitting on the oppsition.

Niagara At Large is now going to post the sewage this moron Jackson has had the nerve to fire at Gates below. And let this site assure you of this, if Wayne Gates screws up, we will nail him on it. We are not partisan here. But this crap from Hudak and Jackson is what it is.

It is what Howard Beale would say is “bullshit” and we should be ‘mad as hell and not take it anymore.’

From the office of Tm Hudak – WAYNE GATES CHOOSES LIBERALS OVER PEOPLE OF NIAGARA FALLS

NIAGARA FALLS – “Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates showed his true colours when he cast his first vote in the legislature – to prop up the Liberals,” said Ontario PC MPP Rod Jackson.

Jackson was reacting to Niagara Falls’ MPP Wayne Gates first act in the legislature. Instead of standing up for the people of his riding, Gates chose to prop up the Liberals on yet another confidence vote.

“During the by-election, Wayne Gates said he would fight for jobs and the hospital,” said Jackson. “But with his first vote he chose to support the same Liberal government he railed against throughout the campaign. What kind of message does that send to families in Niagara Falls?”

“Wayne Gates promised change, but the truth is he’s just another vote for the Liberals at Queen’s Park.”
