Drag racing stars from the past and present will come together Thursday night, March 7, at the World Famous Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, where automotive journalist and historian Dave Wallace Jr. will be moderating an open forum with some of drag racing's greatest stars, including Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen, Ron Capps, Del Worsham, and Chad and Jim Head.

The gathering is a kickoff to the annual March Meet, which launches the 2013 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Racing Series season.

The Night of Champions is a nonformal race attire event that is open to the public. Admission is free. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the question and answer forum starting at 7. Reservations are recommended. The Crystal Palace will be open for dinner and drinks. The celebrities will be hanging around for a meet and greet after the event, so bring your camera and autograph book.

The 2013 March Meet brings four big days of drag racing to Bakersfield, and the Night of Champions is a chance for local racing fans and drag racing legends to mingle and share some of their great March Meet stories. The March Meet runs from March 7-10 at Auto Club Famoso Raceway.
