The Sr. Enterprise Architect will be part of the Regional Back Office Organization with the primary focus of providing world class Business Service Delivery. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of 50+ employees/consultants/contractors for the continued development of the Enterprise Back Office systems, ensuring quality and execution excellence around development and enhancement of our software / web-based products and services within and integrated with the Back Office ERP system. This includes Back Office systems, internal operation-facing products used to support Customer, Order, Fulfillment and Finance management functions and information. All of the system feed the client facing products. Responsible for the definition, development, delivery and integration of business solutions within the GSS Back office operation. A large part of the responsibilities require the ability to understand business needs and translate these to implement solutions that provide our business a competitive edge with ongoing automation and productivity improvements. An important facet of the position is directly interacting with business process consultants and product managers to comprehend their business challenges and to define and implement solutions that meet their needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Articulate architectural approaches and roadmap to ensure reliance of production applications to meet Business needs as well as positioning the Back office operations for flexibility and speed to marker for new Product development.

Translate capabilities of JDE E1 and other technology trends into ideas that drive business benefits.

Adherence to enterprise wide architecture standards and development methodologies.

Utilize knowledge and proven experience implementing and maintaining installations of vendor packages (JDE ERP Products, SAP Business Objects, SalesForce.com) in leading software development and problem management efforts.

Work closely with business Subject Matter Experts to develop technical solutions that meet business needs and are aligned with architectural roadmap.

Assign and manage on-shore and off-shore technology staff.

Ensure software quality and conformance to specifications and business requirements through design and code reviews.

Support and sustaining engineering of deployed products/applications.

Provide technical and architectural oversight for the large scale upgrade of Oracle JDE ERP system from Xe to EnterpriseOne.

Institute architectural and design standards, Articulate technical architecture and provide directions on design and integration of the following components:

Use of the E1 toolset

Transforming custom modules and applications into ERP out of the box components

Most optimal process to retrofit existing configurations and customizations

Data conversions and use of data transformation technologies

Interfaces to state sites, banks, custom applications, suggest the use of Interoperability technologies

Interfaces to CRM – SalesForce.com, Contact Management system – I3 (voice and email), BI – SAP Business Objects, e-commerce applications

Lead a team of developers and tech leads at a technical, administrative and delivery level. Understand and manage contractors staffing needs and requirements, ensure appropriate resources are allocated to projects.

Work with multiple teams of technology professionals who have a role in the creation, acquisition and rollout of internally developed or purchased solutions.

Mentor, obtain and/or facilitate training for developers in appropriate development disciplines and new technologies.

Develop solutions that are open and adaptive to business and technology changes. Produce, collect, promulgate, and enforce architecture and technical guidelines.

Evolve the technical and business models that support our enterprise; ensure that vendors and partners are in compliance with model standards and practices; set and maintain expectations for technical deliverables.

Follow established CMMI best practices in the areas on web and ERP integration development.

Work with the business to determine the priorities among product requirements (e.g. business functionality, availability, scalability, and performance), and ensure that designs and implemented systems meet these prioritized requirements.

Create presentations for business and technical personnel to explain current and future technical architectures and their relationship to business decision making.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS in Technology area (i.e. Computer Science) or related field or equivalent work related experience.

10+ years of experience in software product development with progressive increases in leadership roles/ responsibilities.

8+ years of demonstrated successful project implementation experience.

Previous experience with overall technical responsibility for medium to large scale projects involving 20-30 development team members (internal and external).

Proven experience driving effective stakeholder status, decisions and communications.

Demonstrated track record of successful product delivery within budget, schedule, scope and quality.

Must have significant experience (10-15 years) upgrading and managing JDE ERP applications.  Must have hands on experience developing application utilization JDE E1 Tool set.

Must have significant experience developing Web applications that are heavily integrated with the Back Office ERP systems including involving integrations of  Microsoft .NET and/or Silverlight technologies with Back Office ERP JDE system.

Must be able to identify advanced planning skills around disk usage, system growth, tuning/setting changes driven by increased number of users and/or changes in the way the business is using the system.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project or similar project management toolset.

Strong estimating and planning skills—can accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks/projects, set objectives and goals, break work down into process steps, develop technical schedules and task/people assignments, anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks, measure performance against goals and deliveries, and evaluate results.

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, as well as strong customer relationship and leadership skills.

Strong analytical and team-based problem solving skills.

Ability to negotiate resolution of issues and conflicts.

Ability to effectively lead and facilitate cross-functional teams on and off-shore.

Solid resource management experience required, including resource estimation and allocation.

Ability to negotiate acceptable tradeoffs and decisions that balance the needs of the product vision against the needs of the technical constituencies.

Ability to multitask on many parallel project initiatives and production support needs, including prioritization of production support vs. new project development.

Ability to travel periodically as required (light).
