Live Updates: Election Commission Announces Dates For 5 Poll-Bound States
Following a meeting the Election Commission held with Chief Electoral Officers of the poll-bound states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa, the commission is announcing the Assembly Elections 2017 dates for the 5 respective states.

Counting for all five states to take place on March 11, 2017
7-Phase UP Assembly Elections 2017 Polling Dates: Phase 1- Feb 11, Phase 2- Feb 15, Phase 3- Feb 19, Phase 4- Feb 23, Phase 5- Feb 27, Phase 6- March 4 and Phase 7- March 8
UP Polls: Phase 1 Feb 11, Phase 2 Feb 15, Phase 3 Feb 19, Phase 4 Feb 23, Phase 5 Feb 27, Phase 6 March 4, Phase 7 March 8
UP polls to be held in 7 phases. Phase 1- Feb 11, Phase 2- Feb 15, Phase 3- Feb 19
UP Assembly polls: Date of poll for 1st Phase: Feb 11; Phase 2: Feb 15th: ECI
Elections in Manipur in 2 phases; Phase 1 polling on March 4th, Phase 2 polling on March 8th: ECI
Elections in Uttarakhand to be held on Feb 15th in single phase: ECI
Goa will hold elections on Feb 4; Punjab will vote on Feb 4: CEC Nasim Zaidi
There will be strict expenditure monitor mechanism to curb black money: Election Commission

ECI discourages use of environmentally hazardous material in assembly election campaigns: Election Commission
Candidates will be required to affix photo on nomination papers & will be required to mention that he is citizen of India: Election Commission
Model Code of Conduct comes into immediate effect: Election Commission
1.85 lakh polling stations to be in operation for Assembly Elections to the five states: Election Commission
