A woman doctor
Hyderabad : A woman doctor from Punjab who was pursuing a post-gruaduate course here allegedly committed suicide by injecting herself with unidentified poisonous liquid, police said today.
Dr Sailaja Sharma (31), hailing from Bhatinda, lived in a rented house in Mahindra Hills area here.
She commited suicide yesterday, and her servant noticed it this morning and alerted the neighbours.
Tukaramgate Police said a suicide note found in the house said she was ending her life as she was under depression ever since failing in an examination last December, and was unable to remember what she had studied.
Further probe is on.
In a related incident, a doctor was killed, while another medico sustained injuries in a road accident on NH-2 in Bihar’s Rohtas district, police said.
The mishap occured near Bagicha Restaurant last night as a speeding truck rammed into a motorcycle on which two doctors were returning on way to Narayan Medical College and Hospital after eating meal at the restaurant, the sources said.
While Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh died on the spot, the pillion rider Dr. Ashish Kumar sustained injuries, they said, adding the body has been sent for post-mortem and the injured doctor admitted to a hospital for treatment.
