Hyderabad : The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who is on a tour of Prakasam and Guntur Districts, today reviewed with Chief Secretary over Phone on the latest situation and relief operations in the flood-affected areas. Later the Chief Secretary reviewed with all officials and district collectors concerned the latest situation in the rain-hit and flood-affected areas. He asked them to constantly monitor the situation since many areas are still flooded and water-logged and step up the relief operations. He also asked the medical teams to assist the people wherever required and stock enough medicines. The Chief Secretary directed the District Collectors to distribute relief and supply essential commodities as announced by the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile the officials informed that the situation is improving and floods are receding. According to the latest reports reaching here 16 Districts were affected, while the number of Mandals affected is 567. 53 persons lost their Lives, six persons were Missing. Houses damaged were 42,071: Nalgonda – 12045, Prakasham – 3631, Mahabubnagar – 7356, YSR Kadapa – 2596, Guntur – 2397, Warangal – 2227, Medak – 1739, Vizianagaram – 1557, Visakhapatnam – 1068, East Godavari – 2596, Ranga Reddy – 828, West Godavari – 865, Karimnagar – 1500, Krishna – 620, Srikakulam – 545, Kurnool – 294, Anantapuram – 131, Adilabad – 51, Hyderabad – 16, Khammam – 9.
Crop inundated – 11.37 lakh Ha.: Cotton – 5.97 lakh Ha., Paddy – 4.72 lakh Ha., Maize – 0.25 lakh Ha., Groundnut – 0.16 Lakh Ha., Redgram – 0.04 lakh Ha., – Sugarcane – 0.06 lakh Ha., Tobacco – 0.05 lakh Ha., Blackgram – 0.03 lakh Ha., Horticulture – 51156 Ha. Cattle Loss – 1786, Fisheries Sector: No. of Boats damaged – 1721, No. of Nets damaged – 3366, No. of tanks breached – 58, Farming ponds – 184 Ha.
Other damages: 1594 weaver families affected in Krishna and 28 in Visakhapatnam
Estimated Loss – 3756 Crs (approximately): Nalgonda – 1075 Crs, Guntur – 712 Crs, Prakasam – 596 Crs, Krishna – 416 Crs, Warangal – 411 Crs, West Godavari – 384 Crs, Mahbubnagar – 142 Crs, Medak – 20 Crs.
