ROKER SEES THE LIGHT ON HOLIDAY FOOD

Once chunky weatherman Al Roker says eating more healthfully might make his holiday season a little less jolly — and that’s OK. “My strategy is I don’t deprive myself,” he told us at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Gala. “I have a spoonful of whatever it is I like and that’s that. I just can’t physically eat as much as I used to, sadly.”

Roker, who claims he’s down to a lean, mean 175 pounds, still likes food. And lots of it.

“I don’t care what anyone says, I like quantity, (but) physically, I just don’t have the interest in the same amounts as I used to.”

Still, the shrinking Al feels the benefits of his healthier lifestyle.

“I feel good. You know, every day is a battle,” he said. “You fight it every day. It’s an addiction. There’s no secret — it’s less food, more exercise.

Roker also has a restaurant trick that helps him stay slim.

“If we go to dinner I tell the waiter, ‘Take whatever it is, cut it in half, put the other half in a doggie bag and put the other half on my plate.’ ”

Roker also stays in shape by riding his bike around town, though that may not guarantee a longer life.

“My biggest concern is the pedestrians,” he says. “They don’t look, they step off the curb without looking, they walk in the bike lanes. I’m not allowed to ride on the sidewalk, why are they walking in the bike lane?”

KEEPING FASHION AT BEY

This is how Beyoncé does business casual. On her way out of an office building in New York, Mrs. Carter paired a grey leather pencil skirt with a Rails button-down and Dior purse while flashing a huge smile. Queen Bey and Jay Z dressed up daughter Blue Ivy as a mini-Michael Jackson for a Halloween party in the west Village. What a Thriller.

POEHLER HAD A BUMPY RIDE ON LAUGH TRACK

Things have worked out pretty well for actress and “Yes Please” writer Amy Poehler, but she had to pay her dues like anyone else.

“Your career is a bad boyfriend,” she said at the 92nd Street Y. “It will never pay enough attention to you. It will flirt with other people in front of you.” She recalled her first leading role, as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” in the fourth grade. “Dorothy is Hamlet for girls,” she said.

WALTERS EYES A FAMILIAR ‘VIEW’

It’s been two months since ABC revamped the cast of “The View,” but Barbara Walters, who retired from the program in May, says nothing’s changed. “It’s different women but it still does politics, it still does issues of the day, it still does humor, it still does a fashion show every now and then,” she told us at the Women’s Media Center Awards in SoHo. “I don’t think it’s changed that much.” She says, “I think ‘The View’ is doing just fine.”

SINGLE-MINDED PADMA

“Top Chef” star Padma Lakshmi is single but in no hurry to mingle. The 44-year-old TV personality told us at Cipriani Wall Street that she doesn’t have a lot of time to look for her prince charming and doesn’t much care for fairy tales. “I’m against all these princesses because they just lay around and wait to be kissed and saved, and I think they’re really boring,” she said, adding, however, that she really enjoyed Disney’s “Frozen.”
