Dhaka – Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of ruling Awami League, has announced that it would arrange rallies Sunday at major educational institutes to protest an attempt of abduction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy in the United States.

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, also the Information Communication Technology to Prime Minister Hasina, said in his Facebook post that there was a plot to kidnap him in the United States allegedly by Bangladesh Nationalist Party activists.

BCL president HM Bodiuzzaman Shohag announced the programme addressing a human chain in front of National Press Club in the city on Friday.

Shipping minister Shahjahan Khan, AL central leaders Jahangir Kabir Nanak, BM Mozammel Haq, AKM Enamul Haq Shamim and SM Kamal Hossain, BCL general secretary Siddiqui Nazmul Alam, among others, addressed the human chain.

Addressing the programme, Shahjahan Khan said that BNP is doing politics of killing and they also hatched conspiracy to kidnap Joy.

He urged the government to arrest BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia as she has become the leader of militants.

Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that Khaleda Zia is not only the killer people but also the killer of democratic movement.
