Dhaka: Airport customs intelligence seized gold weighing around 12kg from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday midnight.
The intelligence agency recovered 12 gold bars from a wooden box at the airport’s cargo unit, said Dr Moinul Khan, director general of customs intelligence.
The estimated market value of the gold is Tk 6 crore, he added. The gold was shipped from Hong Kong by a Cathay Pacific’s cargo flight.
An investigation is underway to find those affiliated with the gold, he added.
