Gaya(Bihar): Accused of  killing five girls of the same family, Bipin Kumar, a 35-year-old man was  arrested by Gaya police on Wednesday. However, the weapon used in the murder is yet to be recovered by the police.

Bipin Kumar killed five girls on the intervening night of December 4 and 5. According to police, Kumar killed the girls in order to trap two villagers in a false murder case with whom he had a land dispute.

Police said, the murder was meticulously planned by Kumar as he made sure that the girls were alone at home at the time of murder.

The victims aged between 7 and 15 and Kumar’s own daughters were 15 and 7.  It is also believed that the murder was carried out as Kumar feared  he would not be able to bear his daughters’ wedding expenses.

Kumar is a graduate and owns a coaching centre in Khijarsarai town. He was a money lender and had purchased 43 decimals of land recently from a villager, Shambhu Singh.

This purchase ended up in a dispute between Kumar and Naveen and Anant Singh as they too desired to buy the same piece of land.

Kumar’s father is an ex-army man and the source of income for the family is his pension, their land and Kumar’s earnings from the coaching centre.  Kumar’s brother works as a driver and earns  Rs. 300 a day.

Police said, Kumar asked all the elderly family members with male children to not to spend the night at home as a danger loomed over their head from Navin and Anant Singh. He asked the family to leave the girls alone as they did not face any threat.

After killing the girls, Bipin retuned to the place where the  rest of his family was staying and retuned home the next morning.
