September 28, 2016 (by Ministerului Apararii Nationale ) - The handover ceremony of the first F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft from the Portuguese Air Forces to the Romanian Air Forces took place on September 28, at Monte Real Air Base. In the attendance of the Prime Minister António Costa and Defence Minister José Alberto de Azeredo Lopes, on behalf of Portugal and Defence Minister Mihnea Motoc, on behalf of Romania.
