The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. John Obafunwa, Friday, advised newly admitted students of the university to shun cultism, stressing that the illicit act will damn one’s future.

Addressing the freshmen at the 2013/2014 matriculation ceremony, held at the university auditorium, Obafunwa said: “Parents should warn their children to steer clear of cult related activities. Cultism is evil and those who participate in it are not only wreaking havoc on themselves but on the society.”

The Vice Chancellor also welcomed all guests and parents to the 2013/2014 session Matriculation Ceremony stating that the matriculating students were privileged to be chosen among the thousands that applied into the University and as such encouraged them to work hard to become the best in their chosen fields.
