Watch the incredible moment a 16-tonne transporter truck jumps 25 metres over a speeding Lotus F1 car in a record-breaking stunt.

This heavyweight truck belies its 16-tonne mass as it sets a world record in jumping a Lotus Formula One racing car.

Hollywood stuntman Mike Ryan, known for his work in Fast and Furious and Terminator 2, got the Renault semi-tractor trailer unit to speeds of about 110kmh before hitting the ramp and clearing the Lotus.

Martin Ivanov, who has driven cars in James Bond and Bourne films, was the man brave – or crazy – enough to be behind the wheel of the F1 car at Bentwaters Park in Suffolk.

Martin Ivanov, who has driven cars in James Bond and Bourne films, was the man brave – or crazy – enough to be behind the wheel of the F1 car at Bentwaters Park in Suffolk. Fortunately, everyone survived.

The stunt was also a record-breaker – being the first attempted with a truck and trailer.

The vehicle was airborne for a staggering 25.5 metres – 83 feet and seven inches to be exact.

Guinness measured the distance from where the back of the truck touched down.

Debris went flying and smoke billowed when the truck and trailer hit the road again.

The drivers risked life and limb all for an advertisement for EMC technology, a partner of the Lotus F1 team.

Jonathan Martin, chief marketing officer for EMC and Lotus F1 told the Mail: “The world record-breaking video has been far more successful than we could have ever imagined.

“We have been extremely fortunate to partner with Lotus F1 Team, a team that values innovation and new approaches to marketing.”
