The 4th annual ‘Best of Craft Beer Awards’ were held last weekend in Bend, Oregon at the Mount Bachelor Village Resort where 245 medals were awarded out of 1,755 entries from 245 breweries. These awards have quietly become one of the larger pro beer awards in the country and this year I was lucky enough to be invited to attend and judge myself.

Unsurprisingly, Oregon did very well with Breakside Brewery leading the pack and being named Brewery of the Year with 2 Gold medals for Wanderlust IPA and Passionfruit Sour, 2 Silver medals for Breakside IPA and #MakingFriendsMakingMemories, and Bronze’s for the new Simba saison, Lunch Break ISA, Anus Mirabilis and Pilsner.
Burnside Brewing had a really good showing as well with 3 medals, 2 Gold Medals for Sweet Heat and Thundarr the Bavarian, plus a Silver for Couch Lager.
10 Barrel showed well with three medals as well; Gold for Krispy Cream, Bronze for Huckle Biere and German Sparkle Party,
Alesong Brewing & Blending continued a stellar first year with 2 medals, a Bronze for Saison du Vin ’16 and GOLD for Shake Your Tree.
