OAKLAND — Raiders quarterback Derek Carr suffered a broken right fibula in the fourth quarter Saturday and will be out indefinitely, coach Jack Del Rio said following his team’s 33-25 win over Indianapolis.

The Raiders’ playoff fortunes may have taken a turn for the worse after Derek Carr left Saturday’s game with what appeared to be a severe ankle injury.

Raiders QB Derek Carr is out indefinitely after breaking his right fibula against the Colts on Sunday. Here are some other big names who got nicked up this week.

Carr had to be helped off the field and was later carted out of the stadium with his leg in an air cast after being examined on the sidelines.

“A good win but a tough setback to have our QB go down like that,” said Del Rio, who added that Carr will have surgery Sunday.

The injury came on a sack by Colts outside linebacker Trent Cole, who grabbed hold of Carr in a collapsed pocket. It was the first sack allowed this season by Pro Bowl left tackle Donald Penn.

Carr, an NFL MVP candidate, suffered a dislocated right pinkie on an errant snap on Nov. 27 and was taking snaps from under center Saturday for the first time since that injury.

The Raiders led 33-14 at the time of the injury. Carr had thrown for 228 yards while completing 20 of 30 passes with three touchdowns. He was replaced by backup Matt McGloin, who completed 2 of 3 attempts for 29 yards.
