ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On Thursday at the Times Union Center the MAAC Tournament court will be installed. Then it’s game time.

The MAAC basketball tournament kicks off on Friday along with the MAAC-N-CheeseFest. It’s happening at 90 State Street in Albany and goes from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Eight local restaurants will feature their signature mac-n-cheese at the event along with craft beer.

Fans will have the opportunity to sample gourmet mac-n-cheese dishes from numerous Albany-area restaurants; as well as dozens of varietals of craft beer from New York breweries.

Participating restaurants include: 677 Prime, Ama Cocina, Jack’s Oyster House, Parish Public House, The Hollow, Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen, The Capital, and Wellington’s.

Times Union Senior Writer and Table Hopping Columnist Steve Barnes will act as emcee of the Fan Fest, which will include a People’s Choice Award for the crowd’s favorite dish.

A portion of proceeds from the event will jointly benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and the Times Union Hope Fund.

Sponsors of the Hannaford MAAC-n-Cheese Fest include Hannaford Supermarkets; CHA; Dunkin’ Donuts; Pioneer Bank; Gilbane Building Co; and DeCrescente Distributing Company.
