River Bend Maple Syrup Fun Run, pancake brunch River Bend Nature Center will host the 11th annual Maple Syrup Fun Run and pancake brunch. Trail runs are offered in distances of 5K, 10K, and new this year is a 50K solo and 50K relay ultra-trail run. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m following the race is the pancake brunch. Bike Challenge 6 a.m.-10 p.m., Pick up a map and bike the 10 mile River Bend trail system during the month of May. Finishing riders should stop by the nature center and report to the naturalists the highlights they saw along the trails for a reward. Bike rental and equipment available. American Legion Auxiliary prepares for Poppy Days 9:30 a.m., The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at the American Legion club to making baskets with poppies to raise awareness for veterans. Volunteers will be out giving away poppies on Poppy Days, Thursday and Friday. Donations money will go to help veterans and those currently serving in the military as well as their families.
