Acclaimed musician Neko Case will perform at Lebanon Opera House tonight at 7:30. The Center for the Arts and Summer Music Associates are inviting the community to attend the March 4 First Friday event from 5 to 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in New London. A Taste of Summer Music will introduce the community to Summer Music Associates 2016 Concert series. This professional mini-concert will showcase cellist Ashima Scripp and violinist Olga Petramanska-Bell. Scripp is a sought-after chamber musician, performing both classic and contemporary works. She is the Walden Chamber Players director and co-founder of the Celebration Festival in Cambridge, Mass. Petramanska-Bell came to Boston from the Ukraine to study with the Longy Chamber Orchestra. She is currently on the faculty at Winchester Community Music School and is a member of the Zefira Trio, Grand Hamonie, and assistant member of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.

Refreshments will be served following the concert. This evening is open to the public at no cost. Donations will be accepted. Transported to the Maine Coast

Morgan Callan Rogers will return to Gibson s Bookstore on Saturday with the follow-up to her 2012 novel Ruby Red Heart in a Cold Blue Sea. The NHTI Film Society will present the award-winning, Beatocello s Umbrella at 7 p.m. Friday. The New York Times calls director Georges Gachot s documentary about Dr. Beat Richner heart-melting. In Swiss-German, French, English and Khmer with English subtitles, Beatocello s Umbrella is not rated and runs 85 mins.
