Honda will kick off the parade with a call to action — Find Your Adventure[1] — in a festive opening show. The theme banner features the Banner Swing Band aboard playing the swing-style theme song, Come Away. Keep an eye out for the Sway Pole Daredevils, performing daring tricks high above the float. A 250-member marching band follows behind as well as 24 feather banners depicting classic road maps to national parks. American and Japanese students, part of the Honda-Tomodachi Initiative partnership, along with 250 local high school students, will join Grammy winner Daniel Ho in a performance during the opening.
4. American Honda – Nature s Hope (Phoenix Decorating)
The parade sponsor s 100-foot long, 24-foot tall float connects east and west by paying tribute to the national parks in Japan and the United States, and the friendship shared by both countries.
5. U.S. Marine Corps Mounted Color Guard
The Marines are mounted on mustangs from the Bureau of Land Management s Adopt a Horse Program. The Corps is now the owner of these horses.
6. U.S. Marine Corps West Coast Composite Band
Aside from their musical abilities, each musician in this 110-member composite band is combat-trained. Hailing from three bands — 1st Marine Division Band, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band and Marine Band San Diego — members perform with their respective bands year-round and only join together for this parade.
7. South Pasadena – Fishing Follies
A friendly group of woodland creatures enjoy a laugh[2] as a gentle bear s catch of the day is a fellow fisherman in this entry by the all-volunteer group that has been part of the parade for 123 years.
8. Spirit of the West Riders
This colorfully clad unit blends history and entertainment in a representation of the variety of ethnic groups in the American West of the 1840s-1920s. There are several varieties of horses, too, nearly all owned by the riders themselves. This group is active in Hollywood and members sometimes appear in films. Marshal: Phil Spangenberger
9. Allen Eagle Escadrille
With 782 members, this big high school band comes from the big state of Texas and will be marching down Colorado Boulevard on New Year s Day for the second time.
10. Western Asset Management Company – Let Your Imagination Run Wild (Phoenix Decorating Company)
As a tribute to one of the youngest national monuments, the San Gabriel Mountains, this entry heads deep into its wilderness. Also providing a wondrous backdrop to the parade, the mountains feature owls, deer, California golden bears, eagles, bluejays and lots of natural native plants and trees — several on grand display aboard this float.

11. Wells Fargo
These stagecoaches originally were used to deliver mail and other communication between the east and west coasts. This year, the coaches are providing transportation for veterans with disabilities as part of Warriors to Summits, a program of No Barriers USA. Marshal: George Lane
12. Public Broadcasting Service – Downton Abbey: The Final Adventure (Paradiso Parade Floats)
With its sixth and final season launching on Jan. 3, this debut entry for PBS honors the Masterpiece show with a scene from the popular drama. The grand Crawley family estate, from the show set in early 1900s England, is prominent behind a lush landscape and English gardens. Will we see Lady Mary or Mister Carson aboard?
13. Farmers Insurance Group – Along for the Ride (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Just like adventurers plan and pack all the provisions necessary for a fun and safe trip, this entry by the insurance and financial services company emphasizes the goal of being available for their customers, whether fun involves a motorcycle, RV, boat, golf course or something else.
14. Tournament of Roses President
Mike Matthiessen and his wife, Ann, will be joined by family, riding on a 1925 Glacier Touring Bus.
15. National Park Service
Caring for more than 400 parks, the National Park Service is celebrating the centennial of its founding with an equestrian unit that represents the past, present and future. Even today, horses carry NPS rangers along backcountry trails and also as they guard city monuments. Marshal: Justin Fey
16. Wyoming All-State Marching Band
This Cheyenne-based composite band features 298 students from 32 communities and 27 high school programs and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The size and instrumentation of the band is adjusted each time it is assembled, based on the needs of the parade or performance they have planned. As many as 500 members have performed at one time.
17. Grand Marshal
Ken Burns and his family[3] will ride in a 1925 Yellowstone Touring Bus. The restored vehicle is used each September by the Jammers to share them with the public visiting Yellowstone National Park.

The Great Faces & Great Places of South Dakota (Phoenix Decorating Company)
While celebrating the National Park Service s centennial with this entry, South Dakota s tourism department also honors its national park, Mount Rushmore, celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2016. The float also pays tribute to Native Americans with several icons.

After traveling from South Dakota, these six handsome Shire draft horses are eager to show off their black with white stockings, and why they are the National Shire Six-Horse Hitch champions.
20. Miracle-Gro – Life Starts Here (Fiesta Parade Floats)
TV personality Ty Pennington will ride aboard this entry, along with five other Californians who grew and contributed flowers from their own gardens for this year s entry and help certify it CA Grown.
21. Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Herald Trumpets
This elite group of nine trumpeters and one percussion is led by director Kevin Brown, who composes all the material for the group. More than 80 high school trumpeters auditioned to be a part of this parade tradition preceding the Rose Court for more than four decades.

23. Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
The dozen riders are atop breathtaking, pure Spanish or Andalusian horses, bred and trained at the Medieval Times Ranch in Sanger, Texas. Costumes represent different regions in medieval Spain.Marshal Jesse Camarena
24. Albany State University Marching Rams
As this Georgia band s 126 members prepared for their debut in the parade, the community helped out with a fundraising effort that included a benefit concert featuring R&B and hip-hop artist T-Pain.
25. Kaiser Permanente – Helping Mother Nature Thrive (Fiesta Parade Floats)
Mother Nature oversees her creations with care and admiration in this entry. Butterflies, bees and birds are part of the natural splendor enjoyed by children. Kaiser honors Southern California youth, riding on the float, who have shown leadership in helping their communities thrive.
26. The New Buffalo Soldiers
The troops wear uniforms typical of 1867 and 1872 parade dress. The horses are owned and trained by members to perform to military standards. The New Buffalo Soldiers were formed in 1992. The U.S. 9th and 10th Cavalry Regiments and four Infantry regiments were formed after the Civil War, and were not completely disbanded until 1951. Marshal: August (AJ) Simien Jr.
27. Virginia Military Institute Regimental Band and Pipes
This 140-member group hails from the country s oldest state-supported military college, which was founded in Lexington in 1839. The Institute grants degrees in 14 disciplines in engineering, the sciences and liberal arts.
28. WVU Medicine Children s – Wild and Wonderful (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Depicting all the outdoor activities one can experience year-round in West Virginia, this entry showcases all the seasons. The cardinal, the state bird, leads the adventure at the front of the float as the fall leaves changing colors are on display, all the way to the black bear, the state animal, guarding the winter wonderland, in the back. Six former patients ride the float, as individual flowers on the float have been dedicated to honor kids treated at Children s Miracle Network Hospitals.
29. Kiehl s – The Beauty of Adventure (Fiesta Parade Floats)
In this entry, the cosmetics brand plays tribute to the adventures and expeditions they have been a part of for more than 30 years, all in testing their products in real-life conditions, whether it s Mount Everest, Greenland, Badwater or Alaska. Riders include Everest climber Robert Anderson, ultra marathon runner Laura Heintz, Kiehls employee and treadmill marathoner Christopher Bergland, and company president Chris Salgardo who led a multi-city charity motorcycle ride.
30. Toho High School Green Band
For their debut in this parade, the 116-member group from Japan[4] practiced hours upon hours on weekdays and weekends to work on their unique comical style.
31. Downey Rose Float Association – Exploring the Everglades
In honor of the partnership between the Tournament and National Park Service and this year s parade theme, this volunteer-built entry pays tribute to the Everglades. Miss Downey Alexis Gomez and her court, Princesses Krystal Serna, Haley Griffith and Kennedy Gonzales, show the adventures to experience at the national park in Florida.
32. Scripps Miramar Ranch
The horses in this unit are American Saddlebreds, the first known breed registry for horses in the United States, and will pull an authentic Yellowstone Park transportation wagon. Marshal Michele Macfarlane and her mother, Ellen Browning Scripps Davis, started a breeding program in the 1950s to develop a line of American Saddlebred pintos.
33. Union Bank and the American Heart Association, Western States Affiliate – Union of Hearts (Phoenix Decorating Company)
These two groups are celebrating their 30-year partnership dedicated to heart health. Two large heart-characters exercising spread the message of the benefits of regular physical activity on heart and brain health. The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of physical activity five days a week.
34. Plymouth-Canton Educational Park Marching Band
A 305-acre Michigan campus, home to three high schools — each with its own athletic teams — combine for activities such as band, choir and orchestra. The unit appearing today consists of 176 members.
35. Donate Life – Treasure Life s Journey (Paradiso Parade Floats)
The 24 transplant recipients riding on the float were given the chance to pursue new adventures by receiving life-saving organ donations by people like the 12 living donors walking alongside the float, as well as the 60 deceased organ donors featured on floragraph portraits throughout. About 1,000 roses on the float bear names of loved ones touched by organ or tissue donation.
36. Burbank Tournament of Roses Association – Are We There Yet?
Each member of the raccoon family has their own idea of adventure as they head out in a 1948 Ford Woody, with trailer in tow, in hopes of stretching out the summer before school begins in this self-built entry. Look for tributes to each of California s national parks.
37. The Salvation Army Tournament of Roses Band
For its 97th appearance, the group will feature 221 members.
38. Northwestern Mutual – Dancing into Adventure (Fiesta Parade Floats)
This entry represents 13-year-old leukemia patient Peyton Richardson s dream of one day seeing and performing with a principal dancer at prominent ballet companies around the world. The Texas native, who was diagnosed about a year ago, will ride with her parents.

Terry Tornek and family will make their parade debut in a 1931 Yellowstone Bus. The vintage vehicle is still used for touring parties around Yellowstone.
44. Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band
A parade tradition since 1930, this 230-member group plans to delight viewers with their theme song, Everything s Coming Up Roses, and two arrangements to go with this year s adventurous theme. Band director Kyle Luck marched in three parades as an honor band member in the 80s.

The association s second parade entry is an Armenia travelogue, highlighting 16 tourist destinations. A special release of white doves will pay tribute to victims of the Armenian Genocide.

Through groundbreaking research and lifesaving care[5] by doctors and staff at the Duarte-based medical facility, patients riding atop this entry[6] are able to create new adventures in their lives after defeating life-threatening diseases. Doctors, researchers and nurses also will ride aboard the float.

Representing Guatemala, the 340-member group from Instituto Pedro Molina returns to the Rose Parade for the first time in five years. Longtime winners of awards and accolades in their home country, they also have performed at the Macy s Thanksgiving Parade.
51. Lion Clubs International – Camps For All Abilities (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Showing that it doesn t matter the age or ability, the service organization shows how everyone can enjoy a wilderness camping experience that includes archery, arts and crafts, bicycling, canoeing, fishing and hiking.
52. Disneyland Resort – Disneyland Diamond Celebration Awaken Your Adventure (Artistic Entertainment Services)
Sisters Elsa and Anna, along with their Frozen pals, join Mickey Mouse and friends and the Star Wars crew in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort. The three-part magical entry honors some of the adventures at the Anaheim theme park — a re-creation of Sleeping Beauty Castle, Arendelle and Elsa s ice castle from Frozen and a galaxy far away, a nod to the new Star Wars Land breaking ground in 2016.
53. Norco Cowgirls and Little Miss Norco Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team
The Norco Cowgirls are a high-speed, precision team of riders and their beautifully trained mounts. The horses are quarter horses and paints or pintos and are chosen for looks, stamina and intelligence. The Little Misses are a junior drill team for girls ages 9-16. Marshal: Mychon Bowen
54. 2015 Rose Bowl Game Hall of Fame inductees
Cruising in a 1927 Cadillac sedan, Glacier Park Transport Co. No. 155, will be newly inducted Mark Brunell, Fritz Pollard, Tyrone Wheatley and Jim Muldoon. The sedan traveled from Glacier National Park in Montana, where it is used for tours.
55. City of Los Angeles – Discover Los Angeles (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Several iconic Los Angeles landmarks and activities are featured — Los Angeles International Airport, Hollywood Bowl, surfing, movie filming, bike riding, Griffith Observatory, Capitol Records building and Venice Beach — all under a big sun.
56. Los Angeles Unified School District, All District High School Honor Band
With talent found throughout the school district, this 380-member non-competitive band has been part of the parade since 1973. Directors Tony White and Art Duardo have led the group for three decades.
57. Los Angeles County Sheriff s Department
Twenty sworn personnel, including Sheriff Jim McDonnell, will ride their own horses in the parade. They patrol the many parks in Los Angeles County, from the inner city to the mountains to the beaches. The officers and horses also are trained in mounted search and rescue techniques. Look for Deputy Black Pearl, an American miniature horse and the decorated head mare in the Gentle Carousel West Miniature Therapy Horse Program, which helps children and adults, civilians and veterans.
58. Los Angeles Lakers – Every Second is an Adventure (Paradiso Parade Floats)
This debut entry celebrates the basketball team s storied 68-year history with fireworks, purple and gold streamers, and all. The franchise has won 16 NBA championships. The float will feature the Laker Girls and notable Lakers figures.
59. Rotary International – Working Together for Peace (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Love and friendship abound in this entry that pays tribute to the service group s graduates, Peace Scholars, of the Rotary Centers for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution.
60. Aguilas Doradas Marching Band
Hailing from Puebla, a community southeast of Mexico City, this 201-member unit with performers between 4 and 20 years old will be making their second appearance in the parade. The first was in 2009.
61. Martinez Family
Fifteen participants will wear Charro costumes with wide-brimmed hats, typical of the 1800s in Mexico, and ride horses of different breeds including Andalusians, Aztecas, Friesian and quarter horses. They have been in more than 30 previous Rose Parades. Marshal: Benny Martinez
62. Cal-Nev-Ha District of Kiwanis International – Children … Our Treasure (Phoenix Decorating Company)
This district of the international service group is the largest and the float pays tribute to all children, whose lives Kiwanis believes are enhanced through the service they provide in communities worldwide.
63. Trader Joe s – Fearless Flyer (Phoenix Decorating Company)
This fearless flyer is heading on an adventure of finding food and drinks from around the world for the store s customers. Keeping afloat with balloons, the 55-foot-long flyer is fueled by hand-held vegetable propellers, beverage bottle jet streams, natural fuels of salt and pepper, habanero sauce, corn and more.
64. Saratoga High School Marching Band and Color Guard
From the heart of the Silicon Valley, this 220-member high school group prides itself on diversity with more than 20 languages and dialects spoken by students.
65. Shriners Hospitals for Children – Fezzy Races to Adventure (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Joining the Shriners mascot, Fezzy, on his fire-truck driving ride will be patients plus NASCAR driver David Ragan. Action floragraph photos of patients participating in multiple sports are featured at the rear of the float.
66. Calizona Appaloosa Horse Club
Appaloosas are known for their varying colors and these 14 are no exception. Marshal Leslie Fox Vogue leads this group of riders donning hand-crafted costumes of elk, deer and moose hides, trimmed with glass beads, to reflect the traditions of more than a century ago.
67. La Canada Flintridge – Up a Creek
In this fun entry, three forest pals — Buddy Bear, Bucky Beaver and Hobbes the Bobcat — need a little help from their friend SkyBird as one of their paddles has broken just as they came upon some wild rapids while river-rafting.
68. Singpoli Group – Marco Polo: East meets West (Paradiso Parade Floats)
Looking to wow and inspire viewers, this entry will feature a large mythical dragon breathing real fire[7] and smoke coming from its claw, while also paying tribute to the bridge Marco Polo created between East and West in his early travels from Italy to China.
69. Trojan Pride
From Jenks High School, this 260-member band partnered with the American Heart Association last April for the Tulsa Heart Walk and played the National Anthem to kick-off the event and led thousands of walkers. One of their fundraising efforts, the Rose Parade Road Rally, included the band performing along a 4 -mile route from their school, across the Arkansas River Bridge, and into south Tulsa.
70. Sierra Madre Rose Float Association – Rollin on the River
For eight decades, participating in this annual parade is a tradition for this small town adjacent to the City of Roses. In this zany entry, a family of flamingos take a fun ride[8] on umbrellas rafting down a river.
71. Budweiser Clydesdales
This is the 59th trip down Colorado Boulevard for the Clydesdales. Each of the eight horses are glorious with their bay color, white legs and blaze, black mane and tail. Notice the supervising dalmatian.
72. AIDS Healthcare Foundation – A Girl s World of Adventure (Fiesta Parade Floats)
The AHF dedicated this year s entry to its Women of Action global effort focused on empowering girls ages 5-13 through education, equality, health and wellbeing and sisterhood. Four girl sculptures help hold up the world globe, each representing a teacher, doctor, construction worker and business executive. Five girls, representing the five continents where AHF is (Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa and North America) ride on the float.
73. Franklin Regional High School Panther Band
Not a typical marching performance, this 211-member group combines music, props and costumes to give viewers a complete show. This year, the Pennsylvania band will take it back to the 1980s with big hair, high-top Reeboks and pop icons of the era as they invite everyone to go Walking on Sunshine.
74. City of Glendale – Getting There is Half the Fun (Phoenix Decorating Company)
Returning for its 101st parade[9], after last year s hiatus, the city pays tribute to iconic travel adventures. A replica of the Ford Tri-motor flown by Amelia Earhart to the city s Grand Central Air Terminal flies over a steam train rolling alongside a 1950s convertible. Also highlighted: city landmarks such as the Alex Theatre and Brand Library.
75. Cal Poly Universities (Pomona and San Luis Obispo) – Sweet Shenanigans
For the two universities 68th self-built entry, gummy bears get playful in an ice cream wonderland. Always pushing the animatronics limit, this year s float will feature the bears ice skating, waving, fishing and throwing a snowball. Probably a parade first, the snowballs will be free-flying objects that will be thrown using a launching mechanism and land in a hidden basin in the large ice cream scoop where an automated mechanism inside the float returns and reloads the snowballs. For the fifth year, 85 percent of the float will be covered in florals grown in California.
76. U.S. Army Field Artillery Half Section – Fort Sill
Representing the history and tradition of the Air Defense and Field Artillery branches of the Army s Combined Arms Team, the unit is equipped with a World War I vintage French 75-millimeter gun, considered the first modern artillery piece, capable of shelling large numbers of enemy. The soldiers are in uniforms of the 1920s and the horses, most of them quarter horses, are based on descriptions of the ideal artillery transport.
77. Dole Packaged Foods – Soaring Over Paradise (Fiesta Parade Floats)
In a tribute to the plants, animals and adventure that can be found in the world s rainforests, this entry will excite viewers with animated forest creatures, a cascading waterfall and someone zip-lining across the float throughout the parade. The waterfall features 1,000 gallons of recycled water and fresh fruits such as pineapples, strawberries and mangoes, grown and provided by Dole.
78. Punahou Marching Band
The Honolulu group is kicking off their school s 175th anniversary in style, with 192 members performing in the parade. Noted alumni includes President Barack Obama, choreographer and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and pro golfer Michelle Wie. Punahou (pronounced pu-nah-hoe ), means new spring in the Hawaiian language and is named for the spring at the center of the school campus.
79. California Milk Advisory Board – Adventures in Real Food (Fiesta Parade Floats)
In this inaugural entry, viewers are invited to have fun with their food, especially if it s made from real California milk — a cheddar cheese sun, yogurt, buttery potato, cheesy pizza, grilled cheese and ice cream. Some natural materials on the float were provided by dairy farmers and consist of what their cows eat.
80. Los Hermanos Ba uelos Charro Team
The horses in this group are American Quarter Horses, Andalusian and Azteca (a horse from Mexico descended from the Andalusian). Costumes are authentic Charro attire, handmade either in Mexico or the U.S. The traditional long-sleeved shirts are embroidered with roses for the parade. The hats, made with rabbit fur, strictly conform to Charro tradition. Marshal: Ramon Ba uelos
81. China Airlines – Venture to Majestic Taiwan (Artistic Entertainment Services)
Catching flying fish not only provides food for Lanyu s indigenous Tao tribe but also is a celebration of spiritual beliefs. The 28th entry by the airline and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau showcases Taiwan s cultures and rituals.
82. Odd Fellows and Rebekahs – The Tree of Life s Adventures (Phoenix Decorating Company)
In this entry, the volunteer service group believes life s adventures start with the family, and friends, tree.
83. William Mason High School Marching Band
Marking its first national parade and Rose Parade, 330 members make this the largest marching band in the Ohio school s history.
84. The Bachelor – Love is the Greatest Journey (Fiesta Parade Floats)
Before preparing for one of life s — and reality television s — adventures of finding true love, new bachelor Ben Higgins rides aboard this entry inspired by the show s much anticipated Fantasy Date, usually at some far-away tropical locale.
85. City of Torrance – What a Purr-fectly Paw-ful Adventure (Fiesta Parade Floats)
Tribute is paid to the city s Fire Department in a fun entry featuring firefighters coming to the rescue of a cat who gets stuck in a tree.
86. Mira Mesa High School Sapphire Sound
Representing the San Diego Unified School District, it was no coincidence the 210-member band was chosen for this year s parade since their philosophy has always been about taking a journey throughout the school year. The school s motto has been changed to go with the parade theme.
87. United Sikh Mission – A Sikh-American Journey (Phoenix Decorating Company)
It s a celebration as the harvest festival for the people of the Punjab region in India is depicted on this entry. It s a day of gratitude as farmers pay tribute and thanks to God for their abundant harvest and pray for prosperity.
88. 1st Cavalry Horse Detachment Fort Hood
This all-volunteer group is assembled from active service members wearing campaign uniforms, typical of the 1800s, and riding quarter horses. Two Belgian draft mules pull a supply cart.
89. City of Alhambra – Parks Make Life Better (Phoenix Decorating Company)
City parks offer lots of opportunity[10] for a community and are depicted here by a playground, soccer field, open grass areas, trails and more.
90. Lutheran Laymen s League/Lutheran Hour Ministries – Jesus is the Light of the World (Phoenix Decorating Company)
This entry is inspired by two biblical passages — I am the light of the world and when Jesus Christ calls the first disciples fishermen and asks them to start a new adventure and follow him.
91. Closing show by Wells Fargo
To cap off a grand adventure of a parade, Wells Fargo pays tribute to America in its finale with the New Directions Veterans Choir performing This is My Country. The award-winning acappella group consists of U.S. military veterans whose severe struggles following their service left them homeless. The choir group gives these men and women new hope.
92. Long Beach Mounted Police
Representing a group founded in 1935, these golden palominos (a reference to their color, not a breed) carry riders who are volunteers with the Long Beach Police Department. They have been riding in the parade since 1946.
