It wasn’t that long ago that DC announced some crazy experimental titles that used old Hanna-Barbera characters in radically different ways. Titles like Future Quest and Scooby Apocalypse got reactions of bafflement from the press (including from us) but when the actual books came out, they weren’t half bad. Mark Russell’s take on The Flintstones in particular has pleased critics with its satirical edge.

This, of course, has only encouraged DC to take things further and dig around in the WB intellectual property library to see what else they can mess with. Yesterday they indicated they’re about to launch a similar experiment, this time combining DC superheroes with Looney Tunes characters. And the result? See below if you dare….

Marvin the Martian vs. Martian Manhunter. Okay, I can see that.

Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius, has hired bounty hunter Lobo to track down the Road Runner once and for all. In general, moving the Road Runner cartoons to space isn’t a bad idea. Now the Acme devices can flop in three dimensions, and since Lobo’s methods are often just as self-destructive, they would make an interesting team.

Jonah Hex teams up with Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam. For what purpose, we don’t know.

The craziest notion of the four DC has revealed is this: Batman vs. Elmer Fudd. How short would this fight be? It would last less than a page. They better not charge $3.99. Bats, of course, does not like guns.
