IDW Publishing announced a boatload of new comics and releases during San Diego Comic-Con. Fortunately they prepared a summary press release containing all that information in one place.
Most startling on this list is the mention of ROM: Spaceknight, which Marvel has tried and failed to obtain the rights to for years. ROM is a Hasbro property, and Marvel created a comic book based on the toy that spun off into a life of its own and introduced characters still active in the Marvel universe today. Except for ROM. Hasbro still owns him.
Now IDW is mentioning a title simply called “ROM: The Space Knight.” Does this mean a long-overdue reprint of the Marvel series? Is Marvel okay with that being handled by a third party? Or is it a brand-new comic (which isn’t a good idea given that Marvel owns everything else fans loved about the ROM comic except ROM himself)? No one knows but IDW. There’s just the solitary logo and the promise of knowing more in 2016.

And though SDCC has come and gone there is still a lot to look forward to with the upcoming IDW releases announced at this year’s show.Everyday of the convention IDW announced a major property that had SDCC attendees and beyond in awe:

And last but definitely not least, IDW earned three Eisner Awards at the 2015 ceremony:
