(Ashland, Ore.) — The Southern Oregon University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) along with Women Entrepreneurs of Southern Oregon (WESO) and the Post Growth Institute are sponsoring a four-hour course aimed at helping local managers and owners of small businesses gain exposure and increase sales revenue by utilizing social media.

The class, “Harness the Power of Social Media in Business,” is open to all and the cost is just $99 to attend (SBDC clients, WESO members, and representatives of non-profits pay just $75).

The presenter, Dr. Donnie Maclurcan, is a facilitator, author, and social entrepreneur, as well as affiliate professor at Southern Oregon University. He is also executive director of the Post Growth Institute.

“This is an excellent opportunity for small business in the Rogue Valley to learn some of the tools and tactics that will help them reach customers across multiple social media platforms,” said Jack Vitacco, director of the SOU SBDC. “Dr. Maclurcan is a wonderful presenter with a track record of success with his social media strategies.”

The class is scheduled to take place Thursday, June 25 from 1-5 p.m. in room 129 inside the SOU/RCC Higher Education Center at 101 S. Bartlett St. in Medford. In order to get the most from the class, participants are asked to bring a laptop or tablet device.
