Athletes from 80 countries competing in 15 different sports for 17 days, Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, is only a few days away. You might think that Russia is too cold of a place to enjoy the Olympics. But don’t worry. Historically, Sochi has an average winter temperature in the range of 8-10 °ะก along the coast, so it is actually projected to be relatively warm over in Sochi. What makes this year’s Olympic Winter Games even more heated is that Samsung will be there as the Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category. One really cool perk of being an athlete at Sochi 2014 this year is that all participating athletes will receive the official Olympic Games phone, the Galaxy Note 3, to enjoy, capture, and share their Olympic Winter Games experience. One of the most exhilarating things about the Olympic Games is its scale. To match this grand spirit, Samsung has formed its largest-ever GALAXY Team for Sochi 2014. The team will include more than 80 athletes from 20 countries including Evgeni Malkin (hockey, Russia), Armin Zoeggeler (luge, Italy), and Alex Pullin (snowboard, Australia).

 

 

No tennis in the Olympic Winter Game, but…

 

It is a known fact that Maria Sharapova, winner of 29 WTA singles titles, four Grand Slam singles titles and a silver medalist at the London 2012 Olympic Games, supported Sochi’s bid to host the Olympic Winter Games. Maria Sharapova has also been named as Samsung’s brand ambassador for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. So even though you won’t be seeing her on the courts, keep your eyes out for her during the coverage of the Winter Olympics!
