The Piccadilly line has since announced a reduced service is operating on the line.
Earls Court was also temporarily closed this morning due to an absence of station staff, but has now re-opened.
The troubles on the underground come as the RMT Union is planning a two day strike on the Piccadilly and Hammersmith and City Lines.
It will hamper many of the Underground lines in West London, with service to Heathrow also affected.
