Kevin Mahoney has been promoted to executive VP for the Health System and executive vice dean for the Perelman School of Medicine. He was previously senior VP for UPHS and vice dean for the medical school.

Mahoney played a major role in developing the Center for Health Care Innovation and the Center for Personalized Diagnostics, key elements of our Strategic Plan. He is also leading efforts for a new bed tower on campus and has been a key partner with the University in developing the Penn Center for Innovation. In addition, under his leadership, the Health System received the federal designation for Meaningful Use in information technology, Penn Medicine Academy was created, and the Novartis-Penn Alliance was established.

Mahoney also took the lead in creating the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, followed by successful joint planning with the School for the Smilow Center for Translational Research. He’s currently leading the construction of the Jordan Center for Medical Education and the significant expansion of our clinical facilities on the Penn Presbyterian campus.
