Cesena got the important point in their survival battle, as they played without scoring at Sampdoria. In the other Serie A match of the day Juventus beat Lazio with two goals in first thirty minutes.

Bayer Leverkusen was powerful at home demolishing Hannover 96 4 – 0 in round 29 of Bundesliga. Bayern Munich awaits Porto in Champions League quarterfinal rematch after winning on the road at Hoffenheim 2 – 0. Hertha Berlin and FC Cologne played without scoring and visitors celebrated 2 – 3 in a duel between Freiburg and Mainz 05. After shocking news that coach Jürgen Klopp will leave the team at the end of the season, Borussia Dortmund won 3 – 0 against Paderborn. In the last match of the day Augsburg defeated VfB Stuttgart 2 – 1.

Paris Saint-Germain won three important points on the road at Nice in round 33 of Ligue 1. Game ended in 1 – 3 with two goals by Javier Pastore. Czech Republic is one step away from reaching the finals of FED Cup as they took the 2 – 0 lead over France in the semifinals. Lucie Safarova was better than Caroline Garcia 2 – 1 (4 – 6, 7 – 6, 6 – 1), and Petra Kvitova, best-ranked Czech player, beat Kristina Mladenovic 2 – 0 (6 – 3, 6 – 4). Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes AMG will start from the pole position in Bahrain Grand Prix. He will be joined in the front row by Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari, with their teammates Nico Rosberg and Kimi Räikkönen starting third and fourth. Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa of Williams will be in the third row with again no drivers of McLaren-Honda in top 10. Bahrain Grand Prix is set to start on Sunday at 18:00.
