We start our daily review with Premier League where Arsenal crushed Liverpool 4-1 in the opening match of the round. Hector Bellerin gave Arsenal the lead in 37th, with Mesut Ozil’s free-kick in 40th and a goal from Alexis Sanchez in 45th deciding match winner in the first half. Jordan Henderson scored for Liverpool in 76th from the penalty before Olivier Giroud sealed Arsenal’s seventh straight league win in 90th minute. Arsenal climbed into second place with one point above Manchester United and four points behind the leader, Chelsea who had some trouble to defeat Stoke City at home 2-1 as Charlie Adam scored probably the best goal of the season for the visitors – he managed to beat Thibou Courtouis from his own half. Manchester United’s 3-1 home win over Aston Villa put them into third place, one point ahead of their city rivals. The battle for survival got much interesting as both Leicester and QPR managed to win today. Leicester beat West Ham 2-1 while Queens Park Rangers scored their first victory on the road by beating West Bromwich Albion 1-4. In other games Swansea beat Hull City 3-1 while Everton defeated Southampton 1-0.

In the Bundesliga Klassiker Bayern Munich defeated Dortmund 0-1 at Signal Iduna Park as Dortmund’s former striker Robert Lewandowski scored the only goal in the 36th minute. Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach tightened their hold of the places that lead into Champions League. Wolfsburg defeated last-placed Stuttgart 3-1, Leverkusen crushed HSV 4-0 while Monchengladbach beat Hoffenheim on the road 1-4. Hannover came from two goals deficit to earn a 2-2 draw in Frankfurt while Werder Bremen and Mainz played out a goalless draw. In the remaining game of the day Freiburg beat Cologne 1-0.

All Serie A matches were moved to Saturday due to tomorrow’s Easter holiday. Roma beat Napoli 1-0 in the derby match of the round to stay in second place with one point ahead of Lazio who won their seventh consecutive match by beating Cagliari 3-1. AC Milan finally won on the road, beating Palermo 1-2 while their city rivals Inter continued their winless streak to five matches after a 1-1 draw against last-placed Parma at the San Siro. In other games, Torino won on the road against Atalanta 1-2, Verona and Cesena played a 3-3 goal fest while Genoa and Udinese drew 1-1. Fiorentina defeated Sampdoria 2-0 in a battle for Europa League – Viola is also six points behind Lazio who holds the place which leads in Champions League. Juventus continued its march to the title with comfortable 2-0 win over Empoli.

In Spanish La Liga opening match of the round, Sevilla beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 at home to stay in the race for a fourth place which leads in Champions League. Atletico Madrid defeated last-placed Cordoba to jump ahead of Valencia in third place while Almeria stayed in the relegation zone after home loss to Levante 1-4.

Novak Djokovic is just one step away from defending his title at the ATP Masters in Miami after eliminating John Isner with 7-6, 6-2 in their semi-final match last night. The first seed will face Andy Murray in Sunday’s final as the third seed defeated Tomas Berdych 6-4, 6-4.

Serena Williams easily beat Carla Suarez Navarro in the finals of WTA Masters in Miami 6-2, 6-0 in just 56 minutes. This was her eighth title in Miami and she is still undefeated in 2015 with 15-0 record.

NBA league is entering its final two weeks of regular season and there are still available playoff spots. In important matches in playoff battle last night the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-92 which puts Grizzlies in a share for the second place in the Western Conference with Houston Rockets while Thunder is now holding on to the final eighth spot with one win advantage over New Orleans Pelicans who defeated Sacramento Kings 101-95. Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 114-109 for their sixth straight victory which is keeping them in the seventh spot in the East while Portland Trail Blazers won the Northwest Division title with a 107-77 victory over Los Angeles Lakers.
