Joslin Davis (’77), a nationally recognized family law attorney, has been named president-elect of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).
The Academy is comprised of more than 1,600 of the country’s top divorce and family law attorneys.
“I welcome the opportunity to serve in this leadership position as the Academy’s president-elect,” Davis said. “The AAML has always been committed to setting higher standards for matrimonial law throughout its history. I look forward to doing my part to help further build upon this mission.”
Davis is a principal of Allman Spry Davis Leggett & Crumpler, P.A., in Winston-Salem, N.C. Having practiced matrimonial law in Winston-Salem, Charlotte and the surrounding areas of North Carolina for the past 37 years, Davis has previously held positions as president of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and chair of the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, which limits its membership to 100 attorneys from across the United States.
Davis has been named one of North Carolina’s top 100 lawyers and top 50 women lawyers in North Carolina Super Lawyers magazine and in Business North Carolina Legal Elite in Family Law each year throughout the past decade. She is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell and has been named in Woodward/White, Inc.’s “The Best Lawyers in America” for more than 20 years. In addition, she has lectured extensively and held faculty positions with the ABA Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute and Wake Forest University School of Law, where earned her Juris Doctorate degree in 1977.
