Even though Joliet Junior College’s first session of summer classes has started, there is still an opportunity for students to enroll in the college’s eight-week summer session, beginning June 8, and second six-week summer session, beginning July 6. Classes are available on JJC’s three campuses in Joliet and Romeoville and three education centers in Joliet, Morris and Frankfort. They are also available online.

JJC students who want to register can go directly to eResources using their student e-mail account. If someone is interested in taking classes but has not yet applied to JJC, or it has been more than one year since they took classes at the college, they will need to first complete the application process at www.jjc.edu/info/admissions.

Each summer session at JJC is designed for students to get ahead by achieving credits in a shorter period of time than typical classes during the fall and spring semesters. In the summer, the college emphasizes flexible options for full-time and part-time students, new students, high school students and recent high school graduates, adult students and reverse-transfer students, who can complete summer classes at JJC and transfer the credits back to their home colleges or universities.

In addition to credit classes, JJC also offers a wide variety of continuing education classes for community members, such as classes on culinary arts, photography, how to use a sewing machine, and more. Children as young as age three can also participate in the JJC’s Kid’s College. Some classes in the Kid’s College include “Golf Camp,” “Let’s Make a Commercial,” “Make Your First 3-D Video Game,” and more.
