This weekend will see the 8th Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival taking place around Weymouth’s famous historic harbourside.

And Dorset County Council has been working with the event’s organisers to help people plan their visit.

The council-run park and ride will run from 7am until 9pm, with buses running into town every 15 minutes. The site has a total space for a thousand vehicles and it costs just £3 to park all day parking– which includes the bus fare for up to seven passengers. For anyone wanting to stay in town later there are local buses that will get you back to the site. You will be able to access your vehicle until midnight.

Cllr Mike Byatt, Weymouth county councillor, said:

“This is a great event for the town and it is proving more popular every year. There is a number of travel options open to people attending this year.

“Local residents will know the impact that events like this have on the road network and will, I’m sure, use local buses, and the fantastic cycle paths and walkways to get to the festival this year.”
