Architects, builders, designers and property owners gathered at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton on Friday 20 March for the second North Dorset District Council (NDDC) Building Excellence Awards.
The event celebrated the very high standard of design and construction of buildings across North Dorset, ranging from the restoration of Hamoon Manor near Sturminster Newton to the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery at Blandford Forum.
Cllr Su Hunt, Chairman of NDDC, presented the awards while Anna Thompson, Director of Training at Local Authority Building Control (LABC) was Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
The event was sponsored by Sydenhams, the independent builders’ merchant with a long tradition of supplying timber and building materials throughout Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight through a network of 17 branches and hire centres.
It was also supported by the south west regional office of the Local Authority Building Control (LABC), the not-for-profit membership organisation that represents all local authority building control teams in England and Wales.
