The Mint has released its latest sales report, and to paraphrase a character from the HBO series Deadwood, “The week saw changes, none of them miraculous.”
As of the week ending October 16, U.S. Mint Proof Sets have returned to the top position. The ever-reliable sets tend always to be in the top rankings, and for the last four weeks, they have posted continuous increases in sales: from 5,395 to 7,895 to 12,504, concluding with this week’s 15,007.
The 2016 American Silver Eagle Proof coin drops from first place to second this week, with 11,180 units sold—more than a 50% decline from the previous week’s 24,965.
Third and fourth place this week are occupied by the 2016 Silver Proof Sets and the 2016 Uncirculated Sets, respectively, with sales figures of 8,479 and 3,542.
The Theodore Roosevelt National Park 5-ounce Uncirculated silver coin drops from second to fifth place, with 1,565 units sold last week. Similarly, the Theodore Roosevelt National Park three-coin set dropped out of the top five, with 1,260 sold.
No significant downward adjustments were made for the period.
