Cal Jumper, a certified professional inspector trained by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (INTERNACHI) and Champion School of Real Estate, was interviewed recently by the Business Innovators Radio Show host Alicia Dibrell. During this discussion, Cal explained the basics of home inspection, how the process works, and the benefits of engaging a certified home inspector.
Business Innovators Radio, a widely followed radio show amongst business enthusiasts, recently featured Texas certified home inspector Cal Jumper. This popular show hosted by Alicia Dibrell showcases innovators and trendsetters from different fields of business. Cal Jumper is a certified professional inspector with a wealth of knowledge and experience in home inspection and has received training from the INTERNACHI and Champion School of Real Estate.
During the detailed discussion with Alicia, Cal offered his inputs to educate listeners about home inspection and its necessity. Originally from Tennessee, Cal is a USMC veteran with over three decades of experience in different fields such as defense, military aviation and oil and gas. He got interested in real estate about a year and half ago. Now, as an inspector, Cal helps his clients meet certain standards while buying and selling homes.
Cal informed that residential inspections for real estate transactions in Texas require a licensed inspector from the Texas Real Estate Commission if the buyer or seller request an inspection. As a certified home inspector, Cal ensures a detailed and accurate home inspection for his clients and protects their rights as consumers. His thorough industry knowledge helps Cal identify deficiencies with materials, installation, and workmanship. While no house is perfect, Cal works to educate his clients on the responsibilities that go hand in hand with home ownership and help them understand the home they are about to purchase. He follows comprehensive Standards of Practice and abides by a strict Code of Ethics.
Cal feels that every home buyer or seller can benefit from the services offered by a home inspector. “Most people don’t have the background to understand all of the components that make up a home. Using a home inspector is really a great way to get an education on what you can expect when you buy a home,” he said.
According to Cal Jumper, a typical home inspection process involves a visual assessment of the foundation to determine whether it is functioning as intended. Other activities also include visual inspections of the roof, structural components, electrical system, plumbing system, HVAC system, porch or deck, attic ventilation and insulation, doors, windows, appliances transferring with the home and the home interior. In addition to standard home inspections, Cal also offers specialty inspections for new construction phase inspections, pools and spas, and lawn sprinkler systems.
