Adelaide, AU – On October 11 2016, Anthony Christou launched a Kickstarter campaign for an exciting new tabletop and trading card game, Luminous Ages. Now players can immerse themselves in the Luminous Ages Universe, a world filled with dreams and nightmares, where dragon gods and creatures beyond imagination clash in an eternal struggle for control over the Dream world of Ekratoria.
“The Luminous Ages universe is huge and the creatures and characters that inhabit the Luminous Ages universe will find their way into the card game. In this way, you can get to know exactly who you are sending into battle (and whether they can be trusted),” the creator explains, “This is a unique feature of Luminous Ages. As the comic expands so will the card game itself. The world is a classic clash of good and evil with a neutral element, which could go either way at a moment’s notice.”
Luminous Ages sets itself apart from other trading card games because it was made for young and old players with any level of experience. A tabletop dragon mode with cooperative and competitive play allows you to play with friends and will become a favorite on family game night. In dragon mode, a player can become the Dragon Master controlling the Dragon Gods unleashing their armies against cooperative players that must work together to defeat the Dragon Master. If team games or tabletop card games are not your thing, Luminous Ages offers a 1v1 competitive trading card game.
Anthony Christou has been creating fantasy illustration and art for a total of six years. Before pursuing his love of fantasy art, Anthony worked as a graphic designer and fine artist for over ten years. The art for the card game has been slowly developing for the last five years, but now Anthony hopes this can be his main focus as an artist. He uses both traditional painting and drawing techniques as well as digital processes to bring his ideas to life.
“Creating comics, games and art is an expensive and time consuming exercise with Anthony spending 6-7 days a week developing the Luminous Ages universe. Kickstarter will help cover the costs of manufacturing the Tabletop Dragon Mode and also a large print run of boosters,” says the team, “We love playing the game, but we want you to join us. Kickstarter will help expose this great story to the community. The dream is to make Luminous Ages a sustainable endeavor for Anthony and his team of artists, so they can keep doing what they love most.”
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including pdf copies of issues 1 and 2 of Luminous Ages with some fun extras for $5 AUD, 5 Boosters with 20 cards in each pack for $29, Dragon Tabletop Mode (a deluxe box with 120 cards) for $52, and more. Backers can also pledge $340 AUD for to have their own custom weapon illustrated or $695 to design your own custom quest character to be illustrated by the Luminous Ages team! The artists include lead creator Anthony Christou who has worked on PATH OF EXILE and with Disney, John Silva (Magic the Gathering), and Rob Richardson (Dragon Cross).
