The LightHouse Church in Texas is participating in another proactive community event by hosting a blood drive at its new location in Humble, Texas.
Houston, TX – Sep, 2014 – The LightHouse Church will host an onsite blood drive to benefit the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. The event will happen on Sunday, September 28th from 12:30 to 4pm. The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is an independent, nonprofit blood center that gathers blood through donations and provides blood components and related services. The center meets the blood and blood component needs of patients being treated in more than 170 healthcare institutions in the 26-county Texas Gulf Coast, Brazos Valley and East Texas regions.
“Jesus saves souls through His blood. Jesus Himself, died on the cross for all who would love him. 1 John 1:7 says, “the blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth us from all sin.” “So you see Jesus Himself is in fact a blood donor, said Henderson.” We are to conduct ourselves by mirroring His actions and words, which is why this blood drive is such an important event for our church and the community. The blood donations obtained through this event will save lives,” said Pastor Keion Henderson of The Lighthouse Church.
Appointments to donate blood at The LightHouse Church’s event can be made through the church directly or by logging on to GiveBlood.org and entering sponsor code L665. Blood donations can help a variety of individuals: trauma victims, surgery patients, premature babies, individuals with anemia, cancer patients and many more.
“To me, the important fact is not whether the person in need attends our church or has any religious affiliation, donating blood benefits humanity. We don’t care if you’re Christian, Jewish or Atheists, if you live within the area and want to help your fellow man, please come on the 28th and donate blood,” said Pastor Keion Henderson of The LightHouse Church.
The LightHouse Church, under the direction of Mega-Pastor Keion Henderson, promotes a variety of Christian and non-denominational events for the community throughout the year. Recently, Pastor Keion and Gospel Artist Earnest Pugh hosted a free safety blessing and prayer concert for the community’s children who were returning to school.
Interviews with Pastor Henderson are available upon request.
Pastor Henderson graduated from IPFW in 2004 with a degree in Organizational Communication and a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS). In college, God gave Pastor Henderson the inspiration to divert from sports to promote social empathy and religious growth as a profession. Pastor Henderson has since organized The Lighthouse Church, which is one of the fastest growing churches in Houston. Recently, he was nominated for a 2014 CNN Heroes award, launched his first book, The Christ Compass, and sustained growth with a new 65,000 square foot building for his Mega-Church, along with being the recipient of the 2014 Pastor of Excellence award. Pastor Henderson preaches from a progressive point of view. His deep-seeded involvement in community service has led him to organize the largest Free Easter Expo in Houston, a red carpet walk for his congregation and the press at the Texas opening of The Son of God, and several dozen other like-minded events.
