Lesson To Be Learned

All of us love to hike. What most of us fail to prepare for is the unthinkable emergencies that can be life threatening. What is amazing though, is how easily one can prepare for such instances. For between $25 and $50, you can create a “bug out bag” out of your back pack. Below are some items that can save your life on any given day in the wilderness or in your vehicle.

Emergency Mylar Thermal Blanket (Available in 1, 6, and 12 Packs)

Every year, thousands find themselves in life threatening situations, either in the wilderness or after natural disasters. Will you be prepared? One of the leading causes of death and/or suffering is extreme heat or cold. In these cases, an SOS Rescue Tools Emergency Blankets can mean the difference between life and death. They can also be fashioned into emergency tents.

Magnesium Fire Starter

In an emergency, a fire can mean the difference between life and death. A magneium fire starter is an easy, inexpensive way to ensure that you have maximized your chances of survival in extreme weather conditions.

Even when it’s warm, the morale boost a fire offers can be very important. Trust us, it’s better to have a fire at night, than to sit in the pitch black night for hours. Can you imagine being injured, cold and scared while hear coyotes howl at night? Not good.

Roadside Safety Tips

Auto Safety Tool

Always have a good window breaker, seat belt cutter and led flashlight on hand. And always make sure that the batteries are fresh. You can find great ones online for around 20 dollars. These tools can help if you’re trapped in a burning or sinking vehicle.

Roadside Safety Triangle

In the event of a roadside vehicle emergency, a warning device for oncoming traffic can mean the difference between LIFE and DEATH. A safety triangle is the ideal tool for all vehicle owners. Several deaths occur annually because of on the shoulder accidents that could easily be prevented by alerting drivers just slightly earlier.

First Aid Kit

A small first aid kit which includes Band-Aids, bandages, pain killers, topical ointments, antibiotic creams and bug spray are a good start. Before you assemble your kit, do some basic research on what you need for your specific activities and how to use these items.
