The John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center at Western Carolina University will play host to Folkmoot USA, North Carolina’s international folk festival, at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25.
Folkmoot USA is a nearly two-week celebration showcasing folk music and dance of the world’s cultural heritage each summer at venues across Western North Carolina. Folkmoot will feature a parade and performances from groups representing nine countries who will demonstrate their cultural heritage through costumes, dance and traditional music.
Three groups will perform at WCU – French Canada, the Philippines and Estonia. Tickets are $16 for general admission, $5 for students and children 12 and under. They can be purchased by calling 1-877-365-5872 or visiting folkmoot.org.
