Now that Ryan Murphy has confirmed the carnivalesque theme for American Horror Story Season 4, coming in October, casting and plot rumors have begun in earnest.
While fan-made trailers complicate the situation, Entertainment Weekly confirmed a few things: Freak Show will take place in the 1950s and star Jessica Lange as “a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S.” The 13-episode run is set in Jupiter, Florida, and will follow Lange’s struggle to keep her business running at all costs.
She’s rescued a gang of nightmares who perform in her circus, including Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy. AHS veterans Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts have not been finalized as cast members, although they are currently in talks to join the outlandish clan.
Below, numerous teasers are surfacing with dubious claims to legitimacy. These “promos” may or may not give insight into Season 4, but they definitely set the mood.
