This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cottonelle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #CottonelleTarget http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.
For the past few days, I’ve been sharing kid-friendly activities that are perfect for Halloween. (If you missed them, check out the sensory bin and felt board.) Today, I’m sharing another fun project that your toddler will love. (Mine does.) In fact, when Henry saw these for the first time, his face lit up and he squealed. They are just that fun.
When I was asked to get creative for Halloween with a 12-pack of Cottonelle’s new Triple Roll, I immediately thought of the toilet roll bowling I found via Jeanetics. Henry is really into building and stacking right now. So, I thought it would be fun to create larger pumpkins, monsters and ghosts to stack and knock over. Who needs fancy expensive toys to build towers? These toilet roll crafts are so simple, perfect for Halloween and my toddler loves ‘em.
I made a quick trip to my local Target to pick up a 12 pack of Cottonelle Triple Roll and some tissue paper. After that, these pumpkins, monsters and ghosts came together easy-peasy.
Each roll was only covered in one piece of tissue paper, making it really simple and cheap. For the faces, I used foam stickers, washi tape, googly eyes and felt that I had around the house. (Is it normal to have all of this stuff around the house? Let’s go with yes.)
I used glue sticks to add the features, and for the green “leaves” on the pumpkins, I simply fringed the green tissue paper and stuffed it into the top.
I particularly love the googly eyes on the ghosts.
Once the party was over, Henry and I loaded up the rolls in his new shopping cart. (Grandma found this gem at a yardsale.) He’s been pushing them around for a week. (With a break every now and again to throw them all over the living room.) I wish he was that helpful at the store!
It’s a super simple project that turned out to be a hit! And much less messy than the black bean sensory bin. Plus, by wrapping them in tissue paper, your kids won’t destroy the toilet paper while playing with them. I’m nothing if not practical.
