Recently, many people know him to be the brave hero and father from the international film sensation Train to Busan.

But his true fans know him way back in 2007, in his star role in Coffee Prince.

Wanting more to be just an average heartthrob, Korean superstar Gong Yoo is now establishing himself with more mature and action-packed roles, as many have seen in his latest film.

It is only in this year when Gong Yoo experienced a resurgence in his career, when Train to Busan was breaking records on various box office charts and broke the records of first day admissions.

The 37-year old South Korean is Gong Yoo by his stage name, but his real name is Gong Ji-chul and is a graduate of a Theater degree in a university in South Korea.

Filipino fans loved the role he played in his latest movie, and netizens from the Philippines showed their love for the heartthrob on Facebook, Twitter, and many more.

He repaid this kindness by replying to one of the tweets of the Filipino fans which indeed made them very happy.
