The grand victory party for President-elect Rodrigo Duterte describes Comedian Vice Ganda as a “celebration of hope”. Vice will be performing for free, in the said event along with other artists.
“Nakaka-excite. Kaya masaya ako kasi hindi lang naman ito celebration ng victory ni Mayor Duterte, celebration din ito noong hope ng 16 million na katao na naghahangad ng isang malaking pagbabago sa Pilipinas.”
There will be tens of thousands of people attending the 12-hour party named as “DU30: One Love, One Nation Thanksgiving Party”. Though OPM legend and personal favorite of Duterte, Freddie Aguilar was invited, he regretfully declined due to previous commitments.
Duterte also suprisingly shared his “lullaby” during his press conference. The song was played and it had the melody of Freddie’s “Ipaglaban Mo” but with different lyrics. And as he is to take office on June 30, his family are anticipated to show up at the event.
