Tickets for Kevin Spacey’s one-man farewell show to London’s historic Old Vic theatre are changing hands for more than £430 online after the entire run sold out.

The Oscar-winning film star’s production of Clarence Darrow, a self-retrospective of the radical American lawyer, comes as he prepares to bring the curtain down on his ten years as the theatre’s artistic director.

Fans snapped up seats for the 15 performances – with box office prices ranging from £10 to £60 – after rave reviews from critics this week.

And the plaudits continued to flood in for the actor after Wednesday’s opening night when he remained in character to tell off an audience member whose mobile phone went off.

‘If you don’t answer that, I will,’ he shouted to wild applause.

Brian Streich, marketing director at ticket resale website StubHub, told Metro there had been a huge demand for seats.

He said: ‘While tickets at vastly inflated prices rarely sell, Kevin Spacey has won yet more acclaim and that is why fans are so keen to see him.

‘Given its short run at the Old Vic, this is one of those few examples where ticket prices are being listed at several times face value – and will almost certainly sell.’

Despite regular tickets selling out, a handful of VIP seats, for the gala finale on June 14, are still available from the Old Vic box office – priced at £500.
