The autumn/winter 2014 fashion bandwagon is currently stationed in Milan before it moves onto Paris for the final round of shows tomorrow.

On the catwalk, we’ve already seen a fashion fairy-tale at Dolce & Gabbana (Red Riding Hood’s coat included), fast fashion in the most literal sense of the word at Moschino and luxe goth at Armani. And on the streets, the fashion has been equally high octane and flamboyant.

If the four biggest fashion cities were people, New York would be Olivia Palermo with her slick clashing prints, London (almost impossible to pin down) would be Kate Moss one day, Victoria Beckham the next, Paris would probably be the always chic Emmanuelle Alt and Milan would be Anna Dello Russo – brazen and very expensive.

So, for those who like their logos super-sized and their dresses designer, here’s our top 10 street style looks from Milan Fashion Week AW14.

1. Gilded lady

Brazilian blogger Helena wears Dolce & Gabbana to the label’s AW14 show on Sunday. This gilded look, straight off the catwalk, might seem over the top in any other fashion capital, but not so in Milan.

2. Marni monochrome

Milan based model, Candela Novembre, looks picture perfect in her monochrome Marni suit and we love the colour burst supplied by the sunshine yellow Jimmy Choo bag and those mint green pumps.

3. New shoes?

Milan ladies certainly aren’t afraid of a little high end design and these sculptural Fendi shoes are suitably attention seeking.

4. Sleek and sexy

Does your boyfriend often look aghast at your fashion choices? That’s because we British girls often choose style over full-on sex appeal. Italian girls refuse to make that compromise – they like to combine the two, as shown here by Italian blogger, Laura Commolli.

5. Colour pop

If we needed any more proof that blue is the colour for next season, it was the standout hue in Milan too. Spanish blogger Aida Domenech’s slim-cut electric blue trouser suit and Armani snakeskin cut-out brogues have sold us on the shade for autumn.

6. Fendi feathers

American DJ and model, Leigh Lezark, mixes in with the locals in this Fendi feathered coat, layered dress and PVC sunset sandals. Milan Fashion Week is certainly no place for the shy and retiring.

7. Well travelled

TV presenter, Milana Koroleva, hasn’t restricted herself to just the Italian designer labels. In fact, in her Gucci jacket, Burberry skirt and Dior shoes, she’s pretty much got all the major capitals covered – a truly transatlantic fashionista.

8. The British invasion

Alexa shunned her usual understated style for this bold floral Valentino cape at the International Woolmark Prize this week, calling it her ‘flutterby cape dress’.

9. Camel culottes

We’re currently obsessed with culottes and there were plenty on show on the streets of Milan this week. One of our favourite looks was from The Blonde Salad blogger, Chiara Ferragni. And who wouldn’t fall in love with that cosy MSGM heart sweatshirt too?

10. Anna gets a Moschino McMakeover

Of course, we couldn’t forget the lady herself who ordered everything off the menu from the Moschino AW14 collection. Deliciously daft.
