As our Newark, New Jersey-based Associate Web Editor, you will help provide the Journal of Commerces (JOC) global audience with broad coverage of developments in the international supply chain industry by monitoring a wide variety of sources of industry information and delivering on-point news briefs via the JOCs website.  Your ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments while managing deadlines for a variety of projects will be critical to your success in this role.  These are important skills for this role as on a daily basis, you will identify, prepare, and publish a number of short (50 to 75-word) summaries based on news sources, including news releases, newsletters and other industry publications, aggregating and curating this material for the JOCs busy readership.  You’ll leverage your reporting and writing skills to develop news briefs, news analysis articles, blogs, case studies, executive profiles and features that will appear online (web sites, digital issues and email newsletters).  So, experience editing and writing news in a deadline environment, with experience in business journalism is a strong plus.  Additionally, familiarity with SEO principles and strategies would be a plus to help optimize the material that is produced for the online forum.  Experience with content management systems and knowledge of HTML, with knowledge of photo editing applications is another plus as you will tag material for appropriate presentation on JOC.com and elsewhere as business needs require.&nbs
