The September sun is shining
and the garden is in full bloom. The work of a gardener is never done
and long days in the garden can damage skin if precautions are not
taken.
Skin Care Scientist and Tilth Beauty Creator, Tony Vargas, lists below a few important tips for those who love to garden to keep skin looking its best from now into the autumn season.
Tip #1:
Covering skin is the key to protecting it. Apply a zinc-oxide based
sunscreen and wear long clothing, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat to
protect skin. Sunscreen should be reapplied every few hours so keep it
in the gardening basket and apply another layer during a break. If
possible, stay in the shade as the sun moves across the sky.
Tip #2:
Garden gloves protect hands from burrs and thorns, keep them clean, and
prevent sun exposure. However, you should still apply sunscreen to the
backs of hands because the gloves will come off at some point. Use a
water-resistant sunscreen so the garden hose will not wash it away. When
reapplying sunscreen to other parts of the body, apply some to the
hands as well.
Tip #3: After coming in from the garden at the end of the day, hop in the shower and get clean. The Tilth Beauty Deep Cleansing Lotion,

Gentle Poppy Seed Exfoliator
Using

This is a pretty unique product unlike anything else I've tried before. The exfoliater comes in a container similar to a powder dispenser. Inside your find what is mostly ground up seeds. When mixed with a little water or your favorite cleanser and rubbed against the skin, it provides a powerful exfoliating experience that leaves your skin soft and smooth, without any worries of harsh chemicals. You only need a little bit so one container will last for a quite a long time.
Hydration Body Lotion
The

I
loved the feel of this gentle hydrating lotion. Its so silky and
smooth. You will notice a difference as soon as it touches your skin.
It rubs in easily, leaving behind no films or greasy residue, and it
leaves your skin rose-petal soft. The scent is light and not
overpowering. It is great for combination skin. The cream is made with
natural ingredients like Aloe, Cactus Extract and Honeysuckle flowers. So you
don't have to worry about what kind of chemicals you're putting on
your skin.
