New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett has been hailed as a leading musical voice of his generation. Insite Magazine calls Bennett’s music, “refreshingly capricious and trippy.” The Village Voice raves, "saxophonist Daniel Bennett makes hay with an airy approach that's buoyant enough to conjure notions of East African guitar riffs and Steve Reich's pastoral repetition." The Boston Herald describes Bennett's music as "exploratory folk-jazz hybrid." The Daniel Bennett Group has toured extensively and garnered a broad fan base that is unusual for a modern music ensemble. Time Out New York describes the music as, "hypnotic." The Daniel Bennett Group has recently shared concert billings with artists like Bill Frisell, Charlie Hunter, Greg Osby, and James Carter. In 2013, the Daniel Bennett Group celebrated the release of "Clockhead Goes to Camp" (Manhattan Daylight Media) with a sold-out concert at the Metropolitan Room in New York City. The Boston Globe described Bennett's compositions as, "a mix of Jazz, Folk, and Trance." Daniel Bennett also maintains an active schedule as a woodwind doubler in the New York City theater scene. Bennett recently composed the original musical score for the stage adaptation of "Frankenstein" at the Hudson Guild Theatre in Manhattan. Other recent theater performances include North American debut of the musical "Crabhouse," and the British musical comedy "Legacy Falls" at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. Daniel Bennett completed his Masters Degree in Saxophone Performance from the New England Conservatory in 2004. To learn more, visit www.danielbennettgroup.com
