The title examiner is responsible to provide accurate title commitments, maintain high level of productivity, and assess risk and liabilities in accordance with policy provisions, and provide title opinions based on the facts and documentation. Abstracts county records for residential and commercial properties Research title plant software, analyze and evaluate pertinent recorded documents for determination of ownership, legal descriptions, and any connection to title Examine title orders within company guidelines to determine the conditions of the title and insurability by considering the effect of documents such as deeds, deeds of trust, mechanics liens, tax liens, judgments, assessments, probates and other matters of record Recognize title defects and formulate curative requirements Type new and update existing commitments Prepare final title policies. Perform job duties with a high level of accuracy based upon documented procedures and processes. Complete work in a timely and efficient manner Perform other duties as assigned by manager Job Qualifications: Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in Texas is preferred. Ability to work in an accurate, detail-oriented and highly productive manner. Thorough understanding of basic real estate title concepts and legal documents and how they affect title to real property or the ability to quickly grasp these concepts through training. Demonstrated proficiency with title insurance commitment and policy format and all procedures required to prepare sameincluding abstracting, title examinations, survey analysis, etc. General PC proficiency, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer is required. Knowledgeable with RamQuest Complete Closing; DataTrace/ACS or other title or real estate industry software is preferred. Familiarity with plotting metes and bounds legal descriptions. Demonstrated excellent problem solving and analytical ability, including the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and manage tasks requiring detail, concentration, and accuracy. Demonstrated customer service orientation. Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing. Required education: High school or equivalent Required experience: Title Insurance experience preferred: 2 years
