AERS Advisory Public Relations Specialist

Description:
The Public Relations Specialist role is an important one that will provide extensive operational support for the AERS Advisory Communications team. This role reports to the Director of AERS Advisory Marketing and Communications with a dotted line to the senior manager, Public Relations. This position assists primarily with Public Relations/Eminence and also supports Strategic Programs, and will be fundamental to the effective execution of work and, ultimately, the success of the team.

The Public Relations Specialist will work closely with the senior managers of public relations supporting Advisory leadership and market offering leaders, to plan, lead, and execute public relations programs. The Public Relations Specialist will:

Responsibilities:
Primary areas of focus would be:
* Track and monitor public relations activities and accomplishments to share within Advisory practice, larger firm-wide for eminence, using online searches and databases such as Sharepoint, Precise and Critical Mention
* Coordinate with Advisory internal communications team to generate exposure and awareness of public relations activities or media coverage that builds eminence for the practice and its leaders
* Manage the Advisory In the News page keeping it up-to-date with media hits featuring Advisory market offerings and leadership
* Assist in usage of Deloitte Advisory social media channels for external communication including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook; working in coordination with risk and social media team to share news and generate broad awareness
* assisting in the creation and management of communication calendars and external communication status reports both those used by the team as well those provided to leadership
* assisting with writing/proofreading of press releases, media pitches, byline articles and other communications related to Advisory public relations activities.
* Serve as secondary media contact for various media campaigns and interactions (fielding incoming media inquiries and determining the validity of the opportunity, coordinating Advisory spokespeople to conduct interview, etc.)
* helping with powerpoint slide development for webcasts, presentations or project planning documentation
* management of distribution lists in Outlook as well as assisting with developing targeted lists as necessary
* establishing and managing archive system of communications provided to the practice
* assisting with project management (such as submitting requests to Creative Services or proofing documents)
* providing general operational support to the team
* special projects

* Success with Public Relations Specialist role is dependent on developing and maintaining close working relationships with the following:
* AERS Advisory marketing and communications teams
* Members of the SB&I team
* US-I DeloitteNet support teams
* Creative Services
* IT
Background/Experience
* A Bachelor s degree, preferably in public relations, journalism, or communications
* Experience writing, distributing, and pitching press releases in either a public relations agency or a corporate environment
* Knowledge of internal distribution list management system
* Superior Microsoft Office Skills such as Powerpoint and Word
* Knowledge of Sharepoint team sites as well as DNet platform desired
